Welcome
I am delighted to be able to welcome you to our lovely school. I feel extremely blessed and privileged to be leading this wonderful school which has served the people of Prudhoe for almost 150 years.
We are a Catholic school serving the parish of Our Lady and St. Cuthbert, the community of Prudhoe and its surrounding areas. We welcome all children regardless of faith background and we endeavour to provide a first class education provided in a deeply caring and nurturing setting.
At St. Matthew’s, we want to ensure that, as well as preparing them for their futures, our children are enabled to feel present so that they can enjoy every single day of their school experience.

Our Values
At St. Matthew’s our ‘Lifesong‘ mission permeates everything we do. Our mission inspires members of our community to walk in the footsteps of Christ and to be instruments of God’s love in the words that we say and things that we do.
Pupils of all faiths and none at St. Matthew’s have a unique sense of belonging. Our Lifesong mission, whilst being firmly rooted in the teachings of Christianity, also provides our community with an anchor and a compass to use for navigating life’s challenges.
Letters
We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.
At St Matthew's, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.
