At St. Matthew’s our ‘Lifesong‘ mission permeates everything we do.  Our mission inspires members of our community to walk in the footsteps of Christ and to be instruments of God’s love in the words that we say and things that we do. 

Pupils of all faiths and none at St. Matthew’s have a unique sense of belonging.  Our Lifesong mission, whilst being firmly rooted in the teachings of Christianity, also provides our community with an anchor and a compass to use for navigating life’s challenges.  

We are very proud of our school family and its rich 150 year history.  Above all else, we value the importance of connection and relationships.  At St. Matthew’s you are assured of a warm welcome and to be educated within a loving community.  Pupils moving on from St. Matthew’s leave with a heavy heart because of the sense of belonging that has grown with them during their time here; however, one of the distinguishing features of our school is the sense of belonging that goes with you as you move forwards in life.  Even after leaving our school, you will always have a home at St. Matthew’s.
