Sustainability

At St. Matthew’s, we are committed to creating a sustainable future for our students and our wider community. We believe that education plays a vital role in shaping responsible, environmentally aware citizens, and sustainability is embedded across our curriculum, culture, and daily practices.

We aim to reduce our environmental impact by promoting energy efficiency, reducing waste, and encouraging recycling and responsible resource use throughout the school. Our students are actively involved in this journey—developing the knowledge, skills, and values needed to protect and improve the world around them.

Through our curriculum, we empower learners to think critically about global challenges such as climate change, sustainable design, and ethical consumption. We encourage innovation, problem-solving, and collaborative action so that students can become confident changemakers.

Sustainability is not just something we teach, it is something we live. From eco-initiatives and pupil leadership to partnerships with the local community, we strive to create a culture where every member of our school contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.
